Swim Team Management Committee

The Parent Powerhouse That Makes the Swim Season Happen!

What Does the Committee Do?

The committee works collaboratively to:

  • Establish and support the team mission and policies
  • Develop and oversee the annual swim team budget
  • Support the coaching staff
  • Ensure a successful, organized, and fun season for swimmers and families

The committee plays an important leadership role in maintaining the quality, culture, and continuity of the swim team year to year.


What Is the Commitment?


Time (estimated)

  • August – December: 1–2 hours per month
  • January – February: 4 hours per month
  • March – April: 6 hours per month
  • May – mid-July: 1–2 hours per week (varies by position)

Structure

  • Each position may have co-chairs.
  • Each position holds one vote (if there are two co-chairs, they share the vote).
  • One co-chair from each position attends committee meetings.
  • Chairs are encouraged to recruit and lead small teams of parents to help carry out responsibilities, fostering shared leadership and community involvement.

Meeting Schedule

  • Monthly meetings: August – January
  • Bi-monthly meetings: February – March
  • Weekly check-ins: April – July (through the end of swim season)

Additional Responsibilities

Committee members rotate to attend:

MHSL Delegate Meetings

  • March, April, May, June (2 meetings), September
  • Tuesdays, 7:00–8:00 PM
  • Format varies (in-person and virtual)

The Club at Foxridge Board Meetings

  • Monthly Monday 7:00-9:00 PM

Term Length (proposed)

  • Two-year term
  • Staggered positions to ensure continuity
