Foxridge @ Dam West (Away Meet)
11700 East Yale Way, Aurora, CO 80014
Start: 7:30 AM
WELCOME FROM THE DAM WEST DOLPHINS! We are looking forward to a great meet with your team this Saturday. Here is some information regarding the
meet to help make things go more quickly and smoothly for you and your team. We will be using the automated Dolphin Timing system. We will only use entry cards for the relays so that the swimmers can see who is on their relay team and so that the coaches will have a place to write down swimmers’ names if there are any changes. Please tell your coach to write those name changes on the cards
Saturday morning so that Scoring Chair can get the correct swimmers into the computer.
In order to make things run smoothly for the swimmers and timers we ask team families to check the team
entry listing which we email out the night before the meet.
They are expected to arrive at the meet with their swimmer’s information already on their back and arms. This
helps the swimmers and their families to know what events and which heat and lane they are in. Most
importantly this makes heating go much faster. The heating area volunteers will be checking for this info when
the kids get ready to swim their events. DAY OF THE MEET MEET STARTS AT 7:30 AM Location Address: 11700 E Yale Way, Aurora, CO 80014 Parking: We will provide 2 designated parking spaces - one the Parent Rep and one for the Head Coach - at
the SE corner of the parking lot (closest to the playground.) We have a very small lot so most people will need
to park on the street. Please be courteous to the neighbors. Please let team members know that they
CANNOT park by the entrance island - they will get ticketed. Welcome Table: There will be a small table and 2 chairs at the front gate that your team may use to check swimmers in. Seating: Pool layout map attached. Your team’s seating area is to the south of the pool and in that greenbelt to the south of the pool. There is a gate there for easy access. You may erect tents in the area designated for your team. Please see that any tents, towels, gear, etc do not impede traffic on the concrete walkways. Warm Ups: Warm ups for your team will be at 6:50 am. Meet starts at 7:30 am. We have a YARD pool so
it is especially important that your backstroke kids warm up to get used to the length if they’re used to meters. Fly-overs: Please let your team know that we will be doing flyovers. That means at the end of the Freestyle, Butterfly, Breast and IM’s, the swimmers will stay in the water, close to the wall and to the side of the dive block. They should remain quiet and still while the next event begins. Once the next event has entered the pool the Referee will instruct them to exit the pool quickly. (Flyovers are not used for Backstroke or Relays.) Shift Break: The shift change will be after Event 48. There will be an announcement for 2nd shift. All information meetings will be held at 7:10 am - please listen for announcements for exact locations and times in case they change. Stroke & Turn meeting at the Lifeguard stand in the Officials Area. ALL Timers (1 st and 2 nd shift) behind the diving blocks. Heating meeting in the heating area (the baby pool area.) Timers: Please let your Timers know that they will be asked to double check the swimmer’s name in their lane to ensure that they have the correct time for the correct swimmer. If it’s a different swimmer, they just need to write the name down. They can also help to remind swimmers to put their goggles on. Officials: We will have radios for all of the Officials but in the event that they fail, we will switch to the Zello
app, so please have your Stroke & Turn Judges and your Scribes have the Zello app downloaded and their
phones and headsets fully charged. Concessions: Coffee, breakfast burritos, pop tarts and mini packs of donuts will be available for breakfast. Hamburgers and hot dogs will be available for lunch plus other snack items and drinks. The concession stand will be located in front of the clubhouse to the north of the pool. Your team members can walk thru the pool area to the front gate or around the clubhouse. Visiting Team Coaches: We will have a white tent for you next to the pool along with some chairs and a small, folding table. We will have a yellow folder for your Head Coach and Parent Rep. They will include 4 Meet Programs, Deck Add forms, Protest Forms and Scratch forms, should you need them. We will also provide a total of 5 Meal Vouchers for concessions. We will put the Concessions Vouchers in the Coach folder. If not used, please leave them in your visitor folder at the end of the meet. Meet Programs: A copy of the meet program will be posted at the pool – one on the Dam West fence facing the pool and one on the Visiting Team fence near the back gate. An Individual Entry List will be posted on each board as well. Families should print out the meet program if they would like their own hard copy. We will provide meet programs to: Coaches (4); Officials, Stroke & Turn Judges, Heating, Timers and Scribes. Event Results: Results will be posted on a white board hanging on the north fence outside of the pool facing the parking lot. If you are looking at the SwimTopia app, please remember that those results are “unofficial” and may not include DQs or manual changes yet to be made. Check the board for the “official” results. Baby Pool & Playground: For health and safety reasons the baby pool is closed during the meet. We have a playground area outside of the pool. Please advise your parents that no children should be left unattended. Coaches Relay: Our coaches love to have fun with the visiting coaches and do silly relays at the end of the
meet so we hope your coaches will stick around to play! |
